WUKF World Championships

Hello, my name is Jessica Johnsen! I am 16 years old. I have been studying karate for 10 years. I have earned a Jr. Black Belt degree in Shotokan, and I have recently earned my Adult 2nd Degree Black Belt in Isshinryu karate. In 2015 through a lot of hard work and support from my coaches, friends, and family, I won the 2015 AAU National Championship. Due to this accomplishment, I have been invited to represent the USA as a member of the AAU USA National Team in June 2016 at the WUKF World Karate Championships in Dublin, Ireland. 
As karate is not an Olympic sport, the World Championships are the highest level of competition that a karate athlete can participate in. My desire to compete in this year's World Championship is magnified ten fold by the fact that this year it is in Dublin, Ireland, which is where my grandmother's family is from. I am once again asking for the help and support of family and friends to aid me in attending this event. As a junior in highschool, I am currently taking 4 AP courses, and 1 Dual Enrollment course at the local college. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA during highschool. I also teach at my karate school in an effort to pass down knowledge that I have gained from others to the younger generations in the community. But with all of this my resoursces are limited, that is why I am asking for your help in raising some of the money to defray the cost of this opportunity.
