Andre has been my best friend since childhood. We have been close for over 20 years. During this time I have known Andre to be of the most accepting, friendly, thoughtful, intelligent and hardworking people I have ever had the honor to know.
Andre and his fiance Catherine have a beautiful daughter, Emma, who is almost 3 years old. They also have another child on the way!!! What would normally be a joyous time of celebration, is only adding to the uncertainty of their hardship.
Andre has been a good friend to many people throughout the years. Let’s show him that his friendship is appreciated.
How the money will be spent
All funds raised will be spent in the following ways;
1. Direct Medical Expenses – The cost of prescription drugs, co-payments for benefits plan, hospital parking. There are many hidden costs to being sick.
2. Temporary Income Replacement – Andre has been sick for some time without a diagnosis. This led to him not being able to qualify for employment insurance. The emergency fund has been used during this diagnostic period. Also, Andres fiancé Catherine, will be required to miss work to be there for Andre during this difficult time. We all know how difficult it is to keep a household functioning at the best of times.
3. Home Comfort/Assistive Devices – Being sick and undergoing medical treatment procedures will leave your body weak. Your muscles will hurt, your joints will ache and crack. Even the normally relaxing tasks, such as; sitting down or lying down can become painful. Let’s help Andre live these days in as much comfort as possible.
