Joining The Hive 2015
Normally, I would have been stopped by the cost and yet, in this case, my conviction is so strong that The Hive offers me the conversations, peers and opportunities I'm looking for that I am reaching out to my community to support me in making this quantum leap: personally and professionally.
And I'm confident that attending will not only make an enormous difference in my life but in the lives of everyone there.
While there I will be sharing my vision that we all have access to a new reality through listening closely not only to the wisdom of others, of the living world, of spirit and, most importantly, the wisdom within ourselves. Consciousness and communication, I've discovered, are the fields in which I play. For more information about The Hive, check out Hive.org
I'm two days away from my upcoming adventure at The Hive and I want to thank everyone again for all the support I've received already: financially and otherwise.
It's been a very intense summer as I've continued to work on refining my sense of purpose and assembling the fundamental ideas I hope to share with my fellow Hivers and beyond. I've also been working on my first book, It's called "Glass Bottomed Boat: Contemplations From Beneath the Surface" and is a collection of observations I've made through my work and my own contemplative practices.
Recently I've found that, much like my hero Thomas Merton, I have a mission to share the great power that contemplative practices have to transform the way we see our world and our lives. Contemplation gives us the capacity to experience communion and connection with ourselves and each other, as well as expand our awareness of what it means to be alive: all of which is critical as humanity faces enormous and seemingly intractable global challenges that affect all life on this planet.
I'm blessed to live a life in which I can dedicate myself to so much contemplation in the midst of raising a family, seeing clients and being a member of my community. And I feel even more blessed right now that I can share the fruits of those contemplations with a new community of friends who share my commitment to creating a sustainable, just and fulfilling world. That is thanks to all of you and I look forward to sharing more upon my return.
