Our story
a matter that is extremely personal and close to our hearts

After 5 or so years of trying to start a family we finally fell pregnant out of the blue
We we're shocked but we obviously didn't no what was to lie ahead

unfortunately this was not to be and after having numerous trips to Medway hospital every two days throughout the pregnancy for blood tests on approx. January 5th 2012 i collapse at work and had to undergo an immediate traumatic and debilitating operation where our future child had to be removed along with the damaged right fallopian tube as this could not be saved I had an ectopic pregnancy I was heartbroken but if left any longer it would have killed me

The foetus had got stuck in the tube on way to the correct place and has started internally rupturing the tubes inside me making me bleed

We were told after the operation that during the surgery they examined the left tube and said it was damaged due to water infections the remaining tube was twisted and would need correcting at another time via surgery to enable us to start our family naturally

A while after I had healed I had the procedure to correct the other damaged tube the surgeon had done a dye test to see how the fluid would flow through the tubes and although slow it did go through.

after being told by the doctor that the tube may last 6 months and probably wouldn’t work we asked about the nhs ivf option we were told that as kirk has a 10 year old daughter from a previous relationship we were unentitled to the nhs help

This ruling is a guideline not law And is therefore at discretion of an individual

Although confused as knowing that other couples without their own children and same sex couples are entitled to certain attempts from the NHS that can or cannot conceive naturally through illness or choice or personal sexual nature

we thought of an egg donation route ivf where i donate my healthy eggs to a couple that are unable to have children naturally

We made many trips to Chelsea hospital from Rochester where we started the full procedure to donate eggs enabling me due to donation to have a treatment of ivf for herself.

Both having to undergo these tests we got to within a week of completion and starting the ivf transfer when a test came back positive and another blow to our family

I was a carrier of cystic fibrosis and donation was no longer an option and her ivf trial was denied

Moving forward kirk and myself Found out by home testing that we had naturally been able to conceive and we were ecstatic

As you can imagine after nearly 6 years

We made several appointments with doctors for regular blood testing as the previous issue was a horrific ordeal

And was told on a few occasions that the human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) levels which tracks the baby’s growth was positive and doubling daily as expected but on 7th September 2014 Sunday night i had a small bleed

we went straight to Medway hospital where after many hours we waited anxiously and after a few tests were done they said the womb was still closed so it isn’t a miscarriage and the hcg levels were up to around 7000 which still showed expected growth of the baby and could be a growth bleed which sometimes occurs so we were left feeling positive and more relaxed

But we asked for a scan which we had booked in for Tues 9th Sep 2014

Early that morning we went up to the scan excited happy and couldn’t wait to see our first growing child on the scan screen

We waiting for the consultant to be ready and we held hands giggling like school children and waited to see the screen

The scan screen was turned after a few minutes and the doctor said there is the baby

She said you see the flickering on the screen that is the baby’s heart beat it’s ectopic and ill books you in for surgery today to remove it

Callously delivered

Again we were distraught

We burst in to tears to have the same thing happen twice in a matter of years was heart-breaking we were beyond heartbroken

In tears Kirk demanded a second opinion which we had an anxious hours wait

And the second consultant confirmed

I had to have my other tube removed leaving me unable to ever conceive naturally

Our issue is that we are due to a relationship that ended 8 years ago where kirk himself had a daughter which does not live with us

I am unable to get NHS ivf for myself so we can start our own family

We appeal to you to help us with our attempt to the NHS funded ivf treatment

We feel this law is outdated and has an enormous impact on my right to be able to mother a child

We have tried every conceivable option to be able to do this and cannot afford the 7-10 thousand pounds for the private treatment and although engaged we have resisted getting married in case we have no option but to spend the coming years trying to save for ivf which in current climate is impossible

I work as a children’s nursery teacher and am an exceptional carer and give 100% care to my children in baby room where I am in charge as a room leader and would love to be given the assistance to enable me to be a mother

We are now at June 2015 we are attempting to get a loan to cover the cost of IVF as we start our journey again

Our local friends and family have convinced us to let them try a sharing page just to help us out a little

Although we both initially felt embarrassed and awkward as it would seem we would be asking fur something that we feel isn't deserved Again our friends have said those that wish to help will , let us help !

So it's another route fur us to try We great fully accept any assistance With heartfelt thanks

And would like to raise a petition to help future couples in the same position to change the nhs guidelines for women that are unable to conceive naturally thought no fault of their own and have no children

These women should be allowed their fair trial at nhs funded IVF treatment

Thanks again
