I'm a young girl with a big dream!
A few years ago I accepted Islam and I am currently working on a big project. With the help of this ummah I hope it is successful.
This fundraiser has been set up so that everyone can contribute and everyone can help my muslim community reach £200,000 for us to be able to purchase a property which would then be used as an Islamic centre.
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are: knowledge which he learned and then spread; a righteous son whom he leaves behind; a copy of the Qur’aan that he leaves as a legacy; a mosque that he built; a house that he built for wayfarers; a canal that he dug; or charity that he gave during his lifetime when he was in good health. These deeds will reach him after his death.”
Our ultimate aim is to please Allah by doing this and spreading Islam. We wish to educate the muslim and non muslims. We want to keep it open and welcome to all regardless of faith. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "A servant of God will remain standing on the Day of Judgment until he is questioned about his (time on earth) and how he used it; about his knowledge and how he utilized it; about his wealth and from where he acquired it and in what (activities) he spent it; and about his body and how he used it." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 148
Let's get together as an ummah and achieve this big goal.
In sha allah we hope to hold regular lectures, events such as charity work and simple evenings for families to get together and socialise.
In this islamic centre in sha allah there will be a library full of books on islamic subjects. People would be able to take books out and gain knowledge. Thereafter bringing it back and borrowing another book. It's a simple yet effective way and avoids the hassle of purchasing a book, reading it, then leaving it for the next couple weeks until you decide to pick it up and read it again.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “One who treads a path in search of knowledge has his path to Paradise made easy by God…” - Riyadh us-Saleheen, 245
In addition to all of this, the muslim community want to have teaching hours every week day, 17:00-19:00, regular classes. One hour of reading Quran and another hour of learning about Islam as a religion. We want to aim this at the muslim children as we feel that their generation is quite tough. Technonology surrounding them is what makes it so difficult. It makes them lose focus and only be concerned about the level they're on on a certain game or how many diamonds they have to buy that super-duper amazing jet pack. You know what we mean?
In Sha Allah this goal and all these plans will one day becme reality. We hope to keep you all updated on this journey as we go along. In Sha Allah the end results will be amazing and we will all be proud of all our effort. Apologies for any typos made.
