Two days ago on November 25th, my family received a notice stating that in 14 days from the date received of this notice, my family would be evicted from our home.
I at 17 years old am the man of my household. My family has experienced many difficulties financially for a while especially after the tragic passing of my father and my grandfather within the past year. My mother is currently an unemployed widow and mother of 2 kids. My mother for many years has been suffering severely with her heath which has placed my mother in a position where she is physically unable to work. She currently has elephantitus and arthritis in her legs, she is anemic, she suffers from anxiety and depression, last year she suffered a pinched nerve in her lower back from working, and she is unable to walk for distances and has trouble moving. She currently also is in need of knee surgery in both knees which she is overdue in due to our low income.
Our family was also placed in this position due to the government recently cutting 1/3 of the monthly income that we receive from the benefits from my father's death. The government promised to give my mother money for all 3 household members until my younger brother turned 18 but they switched upon us and said when my younger brother turns 16.
Currently, my family owes $3,000 in rent but we have secured almost $1,000 from local non-profit organizations. And unfortunately, it has been very difficult to find money to able to pay off the remaining debt. The money is needed in 12 DAYS or my family will be forcibly removed from our home and evicted.
I created this campaign as a way to offer your thoughts, prayers, and contributions towards helping my family sail through the difficult times financially and ease some of our extensive financial burdens caused by the current situation.
