Dear Friends of Dr. Sheryl Murphy:
Many of you have spoken often about wanting to help in any way possible to support Sheryl as she goes through her treatment at MDA. Your remarkable prayers have given us all strength and the family asks that you continue to send them as often as possible.
Those of you who know Sheryl pretty well know of her independence and remarkable strength which is so much a part of who she has always been.
So, you will not be surprised to know that Sheryl has been very hesitant to allow us to open a GoFundMe account. Of course, we all are aware that the costs of gasoline, meals, hotels, parking, and other expenses (including the 20% of expenses which insurance does not cover) that are incurred daily. Carter's recent surgery and stay in the hospital and Sheryl's many trips to Houston for testing and treatment are just a few examples of these ongoing expenses.
So, Alia Khader Gonzales, Barbara Corbin and Carol Smith are putting forth this GoFundMe account, with Sheryl's permission, which Sheryl will be able to access as needed to help defray some of these expenses. As Alia has worked to develop this program for Sheryl, she stated, " We know that every dollar given is also representative of a prayer for Sheryl's total healing."
