Nathan loves horses, Legos, NASCAR, Minecraft, and spending time with his family. He is very happy and all smiles.
Nathan was born full term at 38 weeks with a birth defect called VATER Association. He also had a couple of other more minor birth defects. He spent the first 17 weeks of his life in the NICU at Albany Medical Center, after that he was transferred to the NICU at Boston Children's Hospital. When Nathan was 20 weeks old he was loaded onto the back of an ambulance and brought home for the first time. Since then he's had several major surgeries and has been in and out of the hospital more times than we can count. He continues to struggle and fight just to live a "normal" life.
Currently Nathan is receiving treatment for a number of health concerns at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio. Cincinnati is 720 miles from the family's home in West Sand Lake, NY. Nathan and his parents are there for an extended period of time in February 2016 and will be making more trips there as Nathan gets strong enough for additional surgeries in the coming months.
Raising money for this amazing little boy and his family will allow them to take time off work and stay in Cincinnati for extended periods of time. It will also help them cover extensive medical bills and all the expenses related to traveling to and from Ohio.
Anyone who has met Nathan knows what a spark for life he has. He is loved by his doctors, nurses, classmates, friends, family, siblings, and grandparents. He touches the heart of everyone he meets.
