Many of us have been friends with Rob and Becky for over thirty years and have seen them through regrettable fashion choices, various jobs, multiple houses, several amazing dogs (and one bad cat), and through the highs and lows of life.

Then, two years ago, everything changed when Rob was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Rob has a stronger will than the rest of us and he entered chemo with uncommon resolve: “I am going to beat this.” Rob did win the battle, but it was costly. After chemo Rob underwent surgery to remove his stomach, spleen, and parts of his pancreas and esophagus. Then it was on to more chemo and radition. But by his 41 birthday, he “rung the bell” after his final radiology visit: cancer free and on a path to recovery.

Earlier this year Rob started having nausea and pain that led to awful discomfort and weight-loss. Eventually doctors determined the cause was bile duct dilation, but it was operable. Surgery was set for a few weeks ago—mid-June. During surgery the doctors instead found inoperable cancer which had spread and metastasized throughout his abdomen.  This have progressively gotten worse--from cancer free to a very short time frame. Traditional treatments are not an option and now doctors and priests are looking for miracles while Rob is dealing with constant pain, nausea and weight-loss. 

Rob, Becky and the kids have been through so much for these past two years. Cancer ripples far beyond the cells and this entire struggle has been costly. We can’t take the pain, but we can reduce some of the financial burden. This is a great chance for us to support Rob, Becky, Abbie and Finn through the most difficult time of their lives.
