Evelyn's Birthday Donation to GLAAS

Donation protected
Our daughter emerged from the womb obsessed with cats.  This year, when she turns four, we will host her fourth year in a row of cat-themed birthday parties (okay, okay, year two was jungle animal themed...but with a strong emphasis on wild cats).

This weekend, as we were playing her favorite role-playing game, "Animal Shelter," we talked about how it takes a lot of food and cat litter and toys to keep an animal shelter going, and I asked her if she might be interested in helping the animal shelter where we got Boo Boo Kitty by turning her fourth birthday into a fundraiser.   We talked about how she would still get *some* presents, but not as many presents.  Instead, most of her friends would give presents to the cats who are looking for homes.

We know that an almost four-year old doesn't fully comprehend the idea of giving or the concept of money, but she is surprisingly aware and enthusiastic about it nonetheless, and we believe that promoting an emphasis on sharing and giving early on in our childrens' lives is very important.

Thank you for considering a gift in Evelyn's name to the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter, where Evelyn adopted Boo Boo Kitty when she was a little over two years old.  Her birthday is not until August 20th, but we thought we'd begin promoting her idea early on for the best possible results.

In addition, we made a gift list on Amazon.com that includes some of the wishlist items on the GLAAS website.  I have contacted the director of GLAAS and will add to it according to suggestions. http://amzn.com/w/12D38W0LCUU4T
