Xilian's Tuition #MarchScholarship

My name is Xilian Sansoucy and I am a senior at Classical High School, a public school located in Providence, Rhode Island. I will be graduating high school Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA.

Throughout my high school career, I have dedicated my after-school time to working for positive change in my community through volunteering in multiple non-profit organizations. I am the youth co-chair of the Board of Directors for Young Voices, a non-profit organization that pushes for statewide education reform in Rhode Island. Along with volunteering at WaterFire Providence, the Providence Mayor’s Office, and Brown University, I love playing the piano and flute and speak Mandarin and Spanish semi-fluently. As of right now, I have been accepted to Bryant University, University of Connecticut, and Butler University. I am still waiting to hear back from five other schools by April 1st.

I am raising money to pay for college since the cost of tuition at colleges I am applying to could become a big burden to my parents. However, I have chosen not to limit myself and applied to these schools, regardless of cost, because the magnitude of opportunities outweighs the potential debt. My parents have played a key role in supporting my dreams to their full capability, and it is now my responsibility to take an initiative to help support them in funding my own aspirations. By not having to worry so much about money, I can focus on my studies and building my future as a young leader and professional.

If you can help me raise $500 by March 31st, I can qualify for GoFundMe’s $1,000 scholarship.

This GoFundMe scholarship would help turn my dreams of studying education reform and language into a reality since I could work on social issues to improve conditions in unprivileged communities.

The education system will never be perfect, yet cultivating more local, statewide, and national resources would provide more opportunities for students in troubled urban school systems. Throughout the next four years, I aspire to study social justice and education reform to help students find their voice so we can impact the world.

Words cannot express how thankful I would be for any donation you can make to support my college ambitions. I have made a promise to myself that I will take advantage of every opportunity I have in college to push myself to become an inspirational leader in my community. Thank you!
