Hi all,
I am about to tell a story of an 18 year old, Bijoy, born and raised in Sylhet , one of the most beautiful district in Bangladesh. With hopes of better education and standard of living Bijoy and his family moved to Dhaka, coping through the fast life and madness of the city. As time passed by, Bijoy started to show signs of weakness, started to lose weight, started to get ill more often. Who wouldn't right? After all munching on those street food and playing cricket all day, even you would lose a little weight and be tired often.
It was then, Bijoy's parents got worried when he started to throw up after eating. This kept on going for 15 days until he was admitted to hospital. After a lot examination and CT scan, it was reveled that he had Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is a group of blood cancers that includes all types of lymphoma except Hodgkin's lymphomas. Symptoms include enlarged lymph nodes, fever, night sweats, weight loss and tiredness. Around 70 % of the patient with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) has survival rate of 5 years, followed by 60% having survival rate of 10%.
Bijoy's parents are hard working middle class family. They already spend 10 Lac Taka (15,161 CAD), this was paid by selling majority of their properties. His treatment still needs around 20-30 Lac Taka (30,322 to 45,484 CAD).
I am not sure how much I can be of help but even if I can help with small amount, it will make big impact. Please help me to reach a small goal of 1000 CAD and make a small difference.
