Help Buddy Get His Surgery

Buddy was a much loved senior Golden Retriever that lost his home and ended up in Rescue when his previous owner died from cancer.  Our friend and dog warrior, Lisa Wallace, who works with Animal Placement Bureau in Lansing, Michigan adopted Buddy because she had recently lost her previous Golden and wanted to adopt a senior.  Cause we all know that seniors are just the best!  Lisa says "Buddy is one of the nicest, sweetest boys I've ever met."

As recently as 5 weeks ago, at 12 years of age, he had normal bloodwork, and was in great health for his age.  Saturday morning, he was having difficulty walking, and Lisa and Buddy made a trip to MSU. His heart rate was high. Turns out his heart rate was high due to a high level of calcium in his system. The high calcium is often caused by cancer, and Buddy was tentatively diagnosed with an anal sac adenocarcinoma, which is a malignant tumor in the anal sac.  Not good news.  His initial trip to MSU was $853.

Buddy's regular vet saw him this week, and feels that the anal tumor can be removed, and that Buddy has a good prognosis given his general good health. He's scheduled to have the tumor removed on Monday.  However, the estimate for pre-surgical bloodwork, done today, and the surgery is around $800+.  This is a pretty heavy hit to the budget for Lisa, especially since her other senior girl, Susie just recently had surgery to have her remaining eye removed.

Lisa, is the most caring giving person and spends almost all her free time and lots of her personal income helping  the rescue dogs at Animal Placement Bureau.  Now she could use a little help.  If everyone would pitch in with a  donation, small, medium or large, even just a few dollars would help, we could show Lisa, how much we appreciate how hard she works for rescue and maybe give Buddy  a few more good years.
