Surgery for Taco

For so many years, Taco, this happy go-lucky guy, supported me through the toughest moments of my life. When my mom passed away when I was 14, it took a tremendous toll on me and effected every aspect of my life. It wasn't until I got my emotional support animal, Taco, that I truly recovered felt my life repair and come back to normal. Throughout all the pain and emotional turmoil from the loss, Taco was always there. Even though he was a Rescue dog, in the end it wasn't me who was rescuing him. The derpy dog devotes his life to supporting me throughout life, and now when it comes time for me to support him, I am unable to.

In September of 2018, Taco chipped his metacarpal, his ankle, on his front right leg. For days after the unknown event that caused the injury, he limped and was no longer the happy derpy dog he always is. After a prolonged attempt to heal the bone naturally, which ultimately failed, surgery is required to reattach and repair the ligamint and possibly attach a plate to return him to his happy self. 

This is why I reach out to you, everyone. My support animal has helped me for so long and now I find myself unable to support him when he needs it most. I ask from the bottom of my heart that his story is shared, and that you donate whatever you can so that I might see my dog run and jump and be happy again.

It's my turn to help Taco, and I need your help to do it. 

Information:
The chip from tacos bone has damaged the ligament that assists him in moving around his paw, and over time has caused soft tissue damage in the ankle itself. While we are hopeful for a successful repair of the ligament itself, a metal plate might need to be placed, which will render the joint immobile, but allow him to run and jump, and to live a happily life. This procedure is called an Arthrodesis.

*Includes diagnostic arthroscopy of the ankle, to determine of the metal plate will need to be implanted.
Implants: $800
Medications, Rx's, Antibiotics: $200

Thankful, we have been approved for $2000 dollars with Care Credit to cover the surgery, so we only need to raise the last $2,570.
