We are a group of students who are trying to raise funds to compete in the National History Day national competition. We have been working on our projects since September in an effort to be competitive with other students around the nation. We placed 1 st in two categories at the state contest, and 2 nd in two others. We also won three special awards.
Our fundraising efforts will allow us to compete at the National Contest while also enhancing our education in Washington, DC and College Park, MD. We will be visiting monuments and museums throughout the week while also attending learning activities sponsored by National History Day or some of its many partners.
Too many times, students in Mississippi are deprived of the opportunity to experience things outside our state that can help us prepare for life after high school; this is an opportunity to provide just that. The funds donated will go towards travel, hotel, and contest fees for the contest in June. Thank you in advance and we greatly appreciate anything you can provide.
