Xander Macleod’s Cochlear implant Surgery

XanderMacleod was born in Dryden Ontario in Nov 2016. He is a bundle of energy and is the light of Alyssa and Cory MacLeod’s life. He is a happy, curious and typical 2.5 year old. He is dearly loved by all of his friends and family.
Since birth Xander has had mixed diagnoses in regards to his hearing. After a long road of hearing tests and trips to see specialists, Xander has been diagnosed as profoundly deaf in both ears. In light of this devastating news Xander has been approved for cochlear implant surgery in both ears.
Given his age and development there is some urgency and he has been prioritized. Xander will go into surgery on June 24th 2019 at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto Ontario Nearly 2000kms from his home town of Dryden.
Unfortunately the expenses for the trip and follow ups will near $10,000. Xander and family will have to travel to and stay in Toronto for a week. They then must travel to Winnipeg for follow-up appointments once a week for a month afterwards, and once a month thereafter.
Despite lost wages, the cost of travel and accommodation Xander’s family is committed to seeing the surgery and aftercare through. This surgery is Xander’s chance to finally hear the world around him.
