Help Jamie Beat Cancer

On July 10th I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer after having an unexpected hysterectomy and removal of omentum. I had no symptoms just some cramping that led me to my doctor that I thought was related to my IUD. The American Cancer society list the average cost of this diagnosis in the first year as $100,000. While this cost is mostly due to time off from work and medical treatments. However in my case I am in need of life saving surgery scheduled for 8/19/19 and my insurance is set to deny this procedure due to it being out of network. This amazing surgeon can save my life and extend the amount of time I get to be around my sweet four year old. Sadly time is not on my side as cancer has spread and currently located very close to my heart and has spread to diaphragm, Colon, spleen and rectum. 

Why do I want this surgery?

“In patients who are appropriately selected for secondary debulking (the surgery I’m asking for) —those without ascites or carcinomatosis, limited sites of disease, and longer progression-free survival (PFS)—secondary cytoreduction to no gross residual disease has been shown to result in an overall survival of 167.5 months compared with 88.9 months in patients left with gross residual disease.”

If you could have on average 90 more months of life without disease wouldn’t you want it to? I want to do anything and everything to increase progression free survival at all cost. I want to be there for my son. I WANT to love, live and laugh.

Please god let me live and be around a long time for my baby! Let me get through this very difficult surgery with little side effects or complications. Let me make it through 6 rounds of chemo and enter mantaince of cancer drugs for the rest of my life just so I can continue to hear my child laugh, watch him play and be loved and give him love daily!
