Jim Giglio's Journey

May 8th , 1979 - Our dad Jim Giglio died at age 44 from a Cancerous Brain Tumor after a long battle with this terrible KILLER ,  it was a devastating loss to our family emotionally and financially and day doesn't go by where we don't still feel that loss !   November 15 , 2013  - My older brother JIM age 57  is diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer and a Metastatic Brain Tumor { Jim has never smoked }.    Hello my name is TIM GIGLIO and I want to tell you about JIM'S battle with Cancer. Jim recently had Brain surgery in January to remove his " THIRD Cancerous Brain Tumor" and had a stroke during surgery taking all movement from his entire rightside which medically is called HEMIPARESIS.   Jim went into that surgery with his usual confident , defiant fighting spirit and had planned on taking the required 2 weeks off work to heal , the stroke was never expected nor was the extent of it , it is going to take months before he can return to work.  Jim goes to rehab 4 days a week and is busting his butt to get his function back and though he is putting in the work physically the Brain needs to rewire and heal and that you cannot rush.  Jim went through 2 prior procedures { Cyber-Knife } to kill the first 2 Brain Tumors one in 2014 and the other 2015 and was back at work 2 days after each. He also endured 6 rounds of Chemo 3 weeks apart and 30 Radiation Treatments and only missed a couple days after each Chemo Treatment { Cisplatin } a very strong effective Cancer Killer , we his family as well as his doctors were impressed with his positive attitude and toughness . Along with these medical processes Jim also now has A-FIB the result of the Chemo on his body and needed a CARDIOVERSION to shock his Heart into normal rhythm , and after this he was angry they held him in the hospital for 3 days ???   Jim has had dozens of CT , MRI , PET SCANS the Radiation , Chemo and other procedures during his Journey but has never showed pity for himself and always has a FANTASTIC attitude looking forward to Life each day , and those of you that know him well know about his FIGHTING SPIRIT ! It's so impressive to see him Fight so hard and take each new challenge as an obstacle God has put before him to conquer . Jim just got news last friday 4/1/16 that an MRI had found another Tumor in his BRAIN , he was disappointed but was back on his game the next morning with his relentless " lets get on with it " attitude !  Jim loves his family more than anything and is a wonderful husband , father, father-in-law , son , brother , cousin and friend and I'm sure you have all seen this ! Jim and Anne are High School Sweethearts and Best Friends and have been married for 33 1/2 yrs with 2 sons Kyle 28 { Eva }, and Chris 27 getting married in June { Casey }.   Oh yeah and his 2 granddogs Ellie and Wallie.                                                                                                                 Throughout this 2 1/2 year battle Jim has never expressed the need for help but we all are aware of the emotional and physical costs and the immense Stress that Financial issues create,  please help me give Jim and Anne some relief from the stress of the financial burdens they face and let them concentrate on Jim healing and beating this COWARDLY KILLER CANCER!    Anything you can contribute will make a big difference and be used to help with medical co-pays and bills and help offset the loss of income from Jim being unable to work , please "SPREAD the WORD"  " many hands make for light work ".  In ending let me show you Jim's spirit , one of his favorite sayings is    " AT TIMES YOU MAY SEE ME STRUGGLE BUT YOU WILL NEVER SEE ME QUIT "
