My name is Raegan Robinson, a Freshman Public Relations major at Howard University from Houston, Texas. I am blessed to attend Howard University on a full scholarship.
Most people can attest to the fact that Howard University has been my dream school since middle school. I have always had dreams of attending "The Mecca," and now that I am here, I am living my dream. I am Social Media Director and a Contributing Writer of Fresh U Howard. I am on the Street Team for Howard University's radio station WHBC. Additionally, I have earned over a hundred hours of community service during the first semester of my freshman year. I accomplished all of this, while earning a 3.5 GPA.
With these accomplishments, comes a great sense of pride. However, my proudest moment came when I was chosen to be a part of the 6th class of the Freshman Leadership Academy(FLA).
FLA consists of a meticulously selected, diverse, and prestigious group of first year college students seeking to affect our school, local, and global communities in a tangible way. Thus far, we have participated in a case study designed to benefit our school, as well as several off-campus service projects in order to enhance the community. The academy has traveled to China for the past five years where they become immersed in the culture and language.
This year, FLA intends to make a larger impact. With the promise of an internship upon arrival, we, in FLA have the opportunity to travel to China this August, in order to work alongside some of the most prominent leaders in the world within the fastest growing economy. This experience is sure to place me at a competitive advantage by allowing me to leave a global stamp.
I am asking you to help me by donating whatever you can to my trip abroad. The money you donate will cover my flight, lodging, meals, activites, and other fees.
