VIRTUAL REALITY GIVING LIFE BACK!

Hello! My name is Alina and I have Erythromelalgia. This has left me confined to my home because it is too painful to leave it. It has taken a large part of my life away, and it has been a lonely and difficult road. I was left with the belief that I could no longer contribute or even participate in life as I once knew it. What's often missed when considering the well being of people with disabilities is their need for participating with the outside world. For many, our ability to leave our homes or even our beds has been lost. This can lead to a very lonely existence.     After years of feeling this loss, I discovered Virtual Reality! VR has given this missing part back to me! It gives back the freedom to move around, explore, be productive , and most importantly: to truly socialize again! I can't put into words the joy this has brought me since the moment I stepped in! I had yet to discover the social opportunities at first but just the ability to leave my home and explore some amazing places for the first time in several years gave me such joy and excitement! I was leaving my home again! Then I discovered Altspace, a social environment where you can explore, play games and meet new and wonderful people. I now had the ability to not just see outside my home but to be with others too!  WE WANT TO GIVE NOT JUST VIRTUAL REALITY, BUT A NEW AND FUFILLING LIFE TO THOSE WHO DESPERATELY NEED IT. YOUR GIFTS WILL HELP SHARE THIS SAME JOY THAT ANGELA AND SIAH ARE ABLE TO ENJOY.       Virtual Reality gives the opportunity to talk face to face with others, join in their activities, and for those like myself, the opportunity to go to church again! It brings the world to them when they don't have the ability to go into the world! Unfortunately, Virtual Reality can be quite expensive and for those unable to work, this technology can be almost impossible to obtain. YOUR GIFT WILL HELP TO MAKE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE AGAIN!    Virtual Reality has given me a fulfilling life again. I went from what felt like the ability to do nothing to having the ability to do anything! It's given me a busy life again, with reason to wake up and get going in the morning. I now go to church every Sunday, and I'm leading a life group weekly to gather with and encourage each other. Just think of all the other amazing things he will be able to do once we are able to purchase an Oculus Go for him! He will actually get to attend  the church he helped create!
