Tom's Recovery Fund

Donation protected
As most of you know, my brother Tom Golden, suffered a major stroke last week while he was on a training run. As a result, he has expressive aphasia and paralysis on his right side. He is able to speak a few words but it's a struggle and very frustrating for him.

In the last few days, he has been moved out of ICU, and is now starting the long road to recovery with occupational, speech and physical therapy. He will need approx. 4 months of in-patient care, and then will begin months of out-patient care. Tom's wife Kerry, will continue to be the sole care-giver for Tom, getting him to all of his PT and OT appointments. She has taken a leave of absence from work in order to help Tom get the care he needs.

Since Tom is unable to communicate, Kerry has been at the hospital 24 hours a day since he collapsed.

Before this unexplainable tragedy, Tom was the main provider for his family of five and a nationally ranked elite triathlete in his age group. He had recently placed 53rd in his age group at the Ironman World Championships in Austria. He was training for the Arizona Ironman in hopes of qualifying for the Ironman in Kona.

Many of you have asked how you can help, and we have been so grateful for the out-pouring of offers. I have set up this Giving Fund for Tom, Kerry and the boys. The loss of both their incomes and mounting medical bills are tremendous. I know your donations will be a huge help to the family, allowing them to focus on Tom's recovery.

Please keep the prayers coming.

Gratefully,
Jason
