Oliver Jude Swindal was born at St. John in Tulsa on 6/11/15 at 8:02AM. He weighed 8.1 and was 19in long.
-He is blonde and beautiful!
-Bonnie got to hold him for about 15 seconds while they took a picture and then he was immediately taken to the NICU because he was having trouble breathing on his own.
-in the NICU he received antibiotics in case he had an infection and his 24 report said he did not but they are keeping him on antibiotics until 3 days of good report.
-Over the next 24 hours he got much worse.
-he had to be completely sedated and put on medicine to make him paralyzed so he would stay still
-the main problem right now is the capillaries in his lungs are stiff and need to relax
-at 5PM on 6/12/15 he was taken by life flight to OKC children's hospital
-on 6/13/15 Ollie went in for open heart surgery at OKC children's hospital

Oliver is the son of Jonathan and Bonnie Swindal (Whitaker). His short life was a blessing that connected people all around the world and brought much joy to his first-time parents!

We are saddened by his departure from this world, but are confident that he is enjoying eternity with his Savior, Jesus.

To honor Baby Oliver, the family is requesting everyone to please dress in any shade of blue.

July 1, 2015: Oliver Jude Swindal passed the veil into eternity. This is the most difficult thing Bonnie and I have ever gone through, but we decided long ago that he was first a child to God and that our worship will always belong to God. Oliver's 20 days on this earth drew more people together than I ever dreamed possible. He taught me many things without saying a word.
Ollie, you will always be our son and you brought us great joy. We love you forever. R.I.P. Ollie

July 1st update:
Oliver did not have fluids drained yesterday as we hoped. His total ml was in the positives instead of negatives. The Dr's have decided he must come off Ecmo regardless- today is day 14 and they have no records of success for babies staying on Ecmo longer than this and making it. Also, his liver is so bad he has to come off. His blood pressure is still too low!! This is a big concern. We need God to raise it! Every time they give him morphine for pain it lowers his blood pressure. And his heart needs to relax, but they don't have medicines for that. They plan to ween him off the Ecmo machine today but do not seem hopeful about his survival. The Dr said "they are not optimistic" and this is really "not good" they are out of ideas or fixes and have done all they can (for the 4th time!!!) God has to come through again!!! Today is the day for the supernatural once more! We are still believing our God can do anything and we have promises from God to stand on! Jonathan Swindal ‪#‎pray4ollie‬
I have hesitated to share something I believe God spoke to me before Oliver was born and before we entered this whirlwind, but God has spoken to my heart many times through this process that He wants to amaze the Doctors and that His Word is higher than the Dr's reports. Here is part of what God spoke to me in my journal the day before Oliver was born. Please do not stop fighting with us and Oliver!!!!!!! GOD IS ABLE AND WE WILL NOT GIVE UP HOPE! We are standing on this!

I know we don't know each other, we were neighbors in the St. John NICU for a while as our son was born at 25 weeks on May 14th. I just wanted to tell you we are praying for you in this difficult time; for God's peace and comfort. We have 2 angels in heaven with your precious son, wrapped in the arms of our Lord Jesus. Stay strong, keep faith, and know that you are dearly loved by our creator and will one day be with Oliver again in heaven. Your faith is inspiring, and Oliver's story will not be forgotten! Thank you for sharing your story with the rest of us. The Lord is with you, He loves you, cares for you, and is grieving with you; may his supernatural peace surround you in this season. "When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled." John 11:33 "You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book." Psalm 56:8 (NLT)

Dear Bonnie and Jonathan, We have been praying and crying along with you as we have followed your sweet Ollie's journey. We were having our baby girl at Children's while you were there fighting for Ollie's life. When we heard he had passed, we were devastated for you. In turn, I (Jessica) was immediately gripped with fear thinking what if something happened to our baby. The enemy could've overtaken my mind and made me miserable with fear, but because of you and your response to your heartbreaking loss, I realized I could either enjoy to the fullest each day I have with my sweet Zoey, or I could spend my days sick with worry over her. Thank you for encouraging me to daily choose peace in the Lord! Thank you for allowing God to be strong through you. Your faith in the Lord is incredibly inspiring. You have impacted our lives greatly, and we know without a doubt God allowed this for His great purpose. We know He has blessed and will continue to bless you! We are praying for you always! "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." (‭Isaiah‬ ‭41‬:‭13‬ NIV)
