Medical Mission Trip to Haiti

In April and July of 2017 a total of 14 King's College Physician Assistant Students will have the opportunity to travel to Port-au-Prince, Haiti as part of Amer-Haitian Bon Zami Inc. This corporation has made the foundation of the House of Hope and The George Shinn Foundation Medical Clinic possible.
Students will be accompained by King's College Alumni and other healthcare providers to provide needed medical care to the people of Haiti.
On the Mission Trip our time will be spent at The House of Hope and the George Shinn Foundation Medical Clinic. The House of Hope is a home and school for orphaned and abandoned Haitian children. Their ultimate goal is to prepare these children to become healthy, well-adjusted adults – spiritually, physically, and emotionally; as well as to be able to provide for themselves and their families within their impoverished nation. The George Shinn Foundation Medical Clinic is a facility which focuses on caring for the children at the House of Hope and their families.
Haiti is continuing to recover from the massive earthquake in 2010 and is one of the poorest countries in the Americas. Eighty percent of Haitians live below the poverty line with most earning less than $2.00 a day. With no affordable health care avaliable many diseases that are routinely treated here in the United States can become life threatening in Haiti. The missions trips planned for April and July of this year will allow us to make an impact in the lives of those we meet. During our time at the clinic we will provide medical care, medications, immunizations, and educate the community about preventative health measures.
The money donated will be used to fund the trip and purchase medical supplies and medications to bring to the clinic. Even the smallest of donations will go a long way. Thank you so much for your generosity and time.
