Hillsborough,NH FD 1925 Maxim Resto

$3,620 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 36 people in 38 months
The Hillsboro, NH Fire Department and the Hillsboro Firefighters Assocation are trying to restore our 1925 Maxim fire truck that was purchased brand new by the town in the same year. Currently we are almost done with the bodywork and working on the motor. Many years ago the truck was stored in a barn and many of the parts were stolen for their scrap value. We would like to see the truck restored and be able to share it with all that appreciate vehicles from our past. Please help us bring back history.

Good morning ! I see that this has gone flat. I am going to keep this open for a while longer just to see what happens. Remember rides will take place.

All four tires are flat ? I want to thank all of you that donated to this project. I do not know what to do with the Go Fund Me page? It has been dormant for weeks now and I believe it has run it's course. I am going to give it another couple of weeks and if no changes I will pull it down. Please remember we have t-shirts for sale at the Hillsboro Fire Station and all of that money goes to the truck project. Let's keep the men and woman in BLUE in our minds as well. Thank you all again.

Flat tire ? I guess we have a flat tire. WE were going along so good. Please share this as much as we can. I just received a check in the amount of $ 200.00 for the truck so that makes the total $ 1955.00. We have a lead on a steering column and that might fit so that is exciting. The motor is running but needs some transmission work. I will try to make weekly updates. Thank you all again.

Kenny, I am not sure if even that would help at this point. I am totally amazed at the lack of response from the public for this special event. I am going to pull a "TRUMP" card here and tell it like it is.....Given that a few members of the Hillsboro Fire Dept. are contributing hours upon hours of time to the cause, I am left wondering where the other HFD folks are(?) with this fund raising. Two or three of the contributors are names I recognize as part of the that latter group. However, if every missing member gave something, that 1500.00 would be on the horizon real quick without the haircut. Perhaps times have not changed much from the early 70's(when the annual Fireman's Weekend first took hold) whereas out of 44 +/- HFD members, one could count the folks who came forth in times of need, on two hands. Okay so maybe ya needed to add in a couple of toes too. If you can't give more then a dollar or two, and feel embarrassed, do the deed anonymously . So how about it Ladies and Gentlemen of the Hose, Ladder and Rescue Companies, prove me wrong!!! I honestly think if a certain community benefactor was still with us, the entire amount would be on hand even as I write this. Won't mention any names but will add that he sure was a lover of ANTIQUES. If I have offended anyone, no apologies will be forth coming, you are going to have to live with it.

With or without the haircut, I personally am pleased to see all these new donations. Not sure if it is the haircut or folks are just now deciding its time. Hopefully the weekend may see the current number doubled.

My family has a 1918 American LaFrance Fire Engine in our family barn in similar condition to this one. As a little girl my father would take it to Old Homes Day. I was 10 when he died and it's been sitting ever since. I only recently learned of your campaign, I hope I'm not too late. I love that you are restoring this old treasure!
