The 12th Annual Down East Youth and Adult Bass Fishing Tournament, a yearly charity event, will be taking place in the city of Rocky Mount, NC on May 17-18, 2019. This event will support the Williford Family Resource Center and will be a day filled with fun and activities for both children and adults.
Rodney Birth, a former Rocky Mount Senior High School standout and previous college football coach initiated this effort as an opportunity to give back and contribute in a positive way to the community and the youth. Rodney’s passion for fishing and children is evident. He has found a way to offer children a new opportunity to learn skills and to grow personally by taking a day away from the struggles of life to participate in one of the world’s oldest past times. Recently Rodney has moved back to North Carolina to hone in on his bass fishing skills. He contributes regularly in weekly Tournaments.
Our annual bass tournament normally supports more than 35+ children and adult boaters. They participate for cash prizes and awards. A pre-tournament banquet is planned to welcome all participating boaters and youth on May 19 2019.
I’m writing to ask for your support to make a donation
towards our 12th Annual Down East Youth and Adult Bass Fishing Tournament. Every year our organization makes a difference in a child’s life by providing them with the opportunity to enjoy a fun filled day of learning the fundamentals of fishing.
This event is very important to Rodney Birth and Geno McCree, co-founder and the kids that attend each year, but it won’t happen without your support. Our love for fishing didn’t occur until we where an adult which is why we are so dedicated to introducing this sporting event to our younger generation.

I ask that you make a commitment to support this fishing tournament for kids by making a monetary donation to help with the cost of fishing supplies, meals, and the school's food pantry.
