Wrex's Derby Gear Fund

ShyRAMasaurus Wrex has been a Dam City Roller since 2013. She is dedicated to the team, she is talented, and we love her very much. But more than just awesome, she is also a great and versatile player; she can jam, she can block, she does it all, and she does it all with so much passion.

Last weekend the Dams went to Portland as a team to play against 2 great teams, the Air Raid Rollers and the Rose City Wreckers. After the second game on Sunday afternoon we all piled into the Dams vehicles for a 9 hours-long drive home.

On Sunday afternoon Wrex did not come home with the rest of us, as she had saved up some money and had planned to turn this derby road trip into a well deserved vacation.

Unfortunately things did not work out as planned. On Sunday night as she was unwinding at her hostel after a long derby weekend she got all her money stolen from her wallet. I know, that's tough, but wait, it gets worse:
during her second night in the city someone smashed the rear window of her vehicle and stole the suitcase containing all of her derby gear. ALL OF HER DERBY GEAR!! Let that sink in for a minute: she is now coming home with no money and no prospect of derby. AND she will have to pay to get her rear windshield fixed.

She will not only need new skates, but also new pads, a helmet, some wheels, new tools for her skates, a new mouth guard, I mean she is literally starting from zero, as everything is now gone.

Well that's just not right! Whoever knows Wrex knows how much derby means to her. We cannot stand here and let a streak of bad luck take a teammate down.

This is why we decided to start this fundraising campaign. Let's help Wrex get back on her feet and into some skates. Let's turn her bad luck around and show what derby love really means.

Please donate what you can, all the money will go directly to her so that she can buy all the gear she needs and pay for her car repairs. Help us get our teammate on the track as soon as possible!
