Wren’s Breast Cancer Recurrence Fund

It is with a heavy heart that we need to even recreate this page and make this announcement. As most of you know, our 30 year old sister, Wren was Diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer July of 2018. For the past year she’s gone through fertility treatments, chemotherapy, radiation, and two surgeries including a double mastectomy. Just recently, Wren received her pathology report from surgery stating the three biopsied areas were negative for malignancy. My family was ecstatic hearing the news about Wren being officially cancer free. Sadly, it turned out that was not the case. A week after wren told the news to the world, her oncologist did an exam, found something where the expander once was and advised her to get a biopsy. The biopsy showed a tumor in the very little breast tissue that was left over after the double mastectomy. Percentage of recurrence in the breast after a double mastectomy is single digits. Along with the biopsy, Wren also got a CT body scan, where a few days later we were told that the cancer has spread to both of her lungs; making this Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. The cancer is on the lining of her lungs and in multiple of the lymph nodes. Her treatment plan will consist of chemotherapy and a possible clinical trial. Wren will also be needing to take flights to different states in the U.S to get different opinions on treatments. Our family was very fortunate for the previous donors who took care of her fertility treatments and healthcare medical expenses. We’ve exhausted all of those funds and are looking for help as Wren endures this painful journey all over again. Along with recurrence comes financial struggles. We’re trying our best as a family to stay positive. We have been open and vulnerable with you all since day one and we are going to need that support more than ever before. Every penny counts, every share counts, every prayer counts. Even if you can’t afford to donate, sharing this page will still help us get it out to the world.
