Cyteria has suffered a massive stroke due to a ruptured aneurysm. Her road to recovery is expected to be a long and winding one. She is beloved by many and so grateful for the care and concern, affection and love ❤! Cyteria grew up in Brooklyn and Queens, NY and graduated from JCSU in Charlotte. Her life's work has been caring for youth and families. She has been an especially strong advocate for teenagers. She will not be able to work again. Cyteria's passions include music, reading, politics, religion, animals and football. She is an avid Panthers fan and especially loves Thomas Davis. She also adores her family and friends, especially Susan Miller, Dorothy Mayo, Shannon Morrison and Carter, Ronald Stroman and her daughter, Raquanza Miller. Cyteria is loved by so many friends who are family too! She will celebrate her 60th birthday on March 8, 2017 and thirty four years together with Susan Miller, her "babaloo" on April 12, 2017! Cyteria and Susan had just moved back to the Queen City on December 16, 2016 without a penny to their names and had just started job hunting when Cyteria collapsed with the "worst headache of my life! " She was in a medically induced coma and woke up two days later. The power of prayer triggered this miracle as she could have died! She is in need of financial resources for her continued care.

Forever and still grateful for your support! We could use whatever you can spare to help us along. I am at home to care for Cyteria and cannot work. She is still awaiting disability benefits. We have bills to pay coming due as well as living expenses. We are grateful for any help and promise to pay it forward. Peace be with you and yours.

Thank each and every one of you for your support!!! We are grateful to Dylan Arant and Senator Jeff Jackson for their help in securing Cyteria's Medicaid benefits! We are still awaiting her Social Security Disability benefits. Mine have been denied and it will take more than two years for a hearing. We are in need of living expenses to include bus fare to and from doctor's appointments, co-pays for her medications, laundry change, etc. and would so appreciate any donations at all! Please see Cyteria's Caring Bridge Journal update entitled "Fighting" to Overcome. Thank you!!!

Cyteria is being admitted to CMC-Main on Tuesday for her pipeline brain surgery to prevent two more aneurysms from rupturing. We so appreciate all the support. A shout out to Linda Lawyer and Jane and Cynthia who are godsends and right on time. Thank you!!! If you can help, we need some money until Cyteria's SS Disability benefits are approved, hopefully by October 2017 if not sooner. You can send a money order in a card to Cyteria at Cyteria Knight, 1030 Edgehill Road South, Apt. 111, Charlotte, NC 28207 or via her GoFundMe account at Help for Healing for Cyteria Knight. Wish that i could send a million dollars for this fight. Cyteria and i met at JCSU in 1978 and were friends immediately!!! She named me "little Jymee'" and is still dear to my heart. I am screaming to heaven for a healing to take place! Susan, you are one of the sweetest and strongest people i have ever met and Cyteria is so blessed to have you in this fight. Love you both and will keep looking for updates. But i must come to Charlotte asap...

Susan, report that nurse to the daytime charge nurse. The hospital seems to go out of it's way to make couples like us as comfortable as possible, and the fact that she didn't do the meds right is serious.! Thinking of you all!
