Hi Folks,
Nicky and I had been hoping for a little family of our very own for quite some time.
But due to medical reasons beyond our control we find that IVF is our only route now.
Let me explain..I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) quite a few years ago, which makes conception quite difficult. After years of treating it medically, as well as completely changing my diet and adopting a healthy lifestyle including daily exercise. I have now been informed that I have managed to reverse the illness, such good, happy news indeed.
It was so wonderful to receive this most amazing news that I was now better, and healthier than ever and given the all clear. It made all that hard work worthwhile.
Unfortunately Nicky was diagnosed with cancer, and is currently undergoing treatment. It is due to this reason that our only option now to have children is by IVF. And we were advised by his consultant to store sperm in a sperm bank, prior to beginning any cancer treatment.
So we thought we would try crowdfunding as a way to raise funds. We are hoping to raise enough funds for a 3-cycle package of IVF, which costs £10,000.
Couples all over the world are using this website to raise funds for their IVF treatment. Donations made on this website can be made personally or anonymously if that's what you prefer. No amount is too small, and donations begin at £5/$5. Anything received will be much appreciated.
It would mean the world to us if you could help us achieve this. So that one-day we could have a little Ayda or Nicky running around. The hope of new beginnings and a new life takes on even more meaning now than before.
I’m fortunate enough to come from a large family, and we've made many friends over the years. We would be so very grateful if you could donate as little or as much as you feel able to.
We are hoping to raise enough funds during the summer, so we can begin treatment soon. As unfortunately time is of the essence for us.
Family has always been very important to us, and we would be eternally grateful to you all for all your help in fulfilling our dream.
Should the IVF treatment work on cycle 1 or cycle 2, then of course the balance of the money raised would go to a children’s charity.
