My granddaugthter Hailey is furnishing the letter. However, she does not have an email or Facebook Account and is using mine.
Here is Hailey's letter:
My name is Hailey Dugan, age 16, and I am writing on behalf of my mother, Cindy, who was diagnosed with throat cancer this past summer. The photo with this application is of she and I and was taken 16 years ago right after my birth.
A trek was placed in her throat to enable breathing. I also have a brother who is 13 years old and my family lives in Friendswood, Texas.
My mom is being treated with chemo and now needs radiation. Our big big problem is money. Mom has been unable to work for sometime now because of her illness. My grandparents are paying our rent, utilities, and other regular bills.
However, now something new has cropped up: My Mom must have major dental work before the radiation treatment for the cancer can begin.
Last week she saw a dentist and had a prosthesis made which she will wear during radation treatment to keep her tongue from being burned. This was required before dental work could begin. That cost was $1143 and thankfully my grandparents were able to take care of this. Now the dentist says the cost of the remaining dental work to be done is approximately $9700 and must be paid before treatment for the cancer can begin. We have no money and don't have anyone else in the family we can call on. Radiation cannot begin without the dental work.
I love my mom very much and hope you can help. My brother and I will appreciate anything you can donate.
