An Evening of Self-Care

Hey, my name is Georgia, I'm 20 years old from London.

I'm raising money to produce an event at Rich Mix on Wedneday 14th March 2018, called An Evening of Self-Care.
https://www.richmix.org.uk/events/young-creatives/pitch-mix-winner-evening-self-care

An Evening of Self-Care will be an inspiring, inclusive event of thought, discussion, and creative arts, aimed for diverse young people between the ages of 16-30 (however the event is open for everyone and anyone to attend).
This event will educate, uplift, inspire and break down the stigma attached to mental health, by exploring the benefits of using practical self-care effectively.

During the evening, you will meet like-minded individuals, learn how to develop and maintain a self-care routine, and how to practice mindfulness by engaging in different forms of creativity.

You can expect a short film screening, spoken word performances, music, an empowerment workshop, self-care tips, glitter face painting, and a panel discussion chaired by BBC One Show presenter Carrie Grant, panellists include Maggy Van Ejik (Social Media Manager for BBC Three & Writer for Buzzfeed), Emily Coxhead (Illustrator, Writer & Founder of the Happy Newspaper), Shannon Wade (NHS Community Psychiatric Nurse), and Oli Regan (Actor & Mental Health Champion for SANE).

This idea came about after I launched, The World of Self-Care, in August 2017.

The World of Self-Care is a platform predominately aimed at women which brings lots of creative ideas together.
I set up The World of Self-Care after overcoming my own complexed Mental Health issues, Depression, Anxiety and Boarderline Personality Disorder.
I overcame them by practicing Self-Care on a daily basis and learning to love my full self.
Now I wish to help other people, but especially young women overcome their Mental Health conditions, by creating safe spaces where they can explore their true selves through creative workshops/events.
My big dream with The World of Self-Care is to produce a Self-Care Festival in November 2018, and An Evening of Self-Care in March, is the pilot for the festival!

An Evening of Self-Care will change the lives of 150 people, espeically young people between the ages of 16-25.
This event is open to anyone as its a pilot for the festival I am going to produce in November 2018.
I want to help people to create their own physical spaces amongst their community, where they can speak freely about Mental Health and share the positivity of Self-Care.
