World Junior Ultimate Championships

Hey, my name is Aidan and I recently was selected to represent Thunder, the Australian men's team for the U20 World Ultimate Junior Championships in Ontario, Canada from the 18th through to the 25th of August this year.
The costs associated with this competition, will unfortunately neither be covered by organisations nor ample funding. This, in turn, requires the attendees to save a great sum of money. Hence, I thought that whilst I work and complete my full-time tertiary studies, I would attempt to raise a portion of the trip’s expenditures through what I believe should be called ‘Please GoFundMe’!
All up, the campaign is estimated to cost $5500 and through this funding, I am aiming to achieve $3000. However, the more money that is granted, the less time that is spent working, which can then be dedicated to training and developing the skills required to get all up in your opponents face!!
Now, about my sweet time within the world of ultimate. I began playing at a social level but was soon happily convinced to participate in Flinders University local state league, winning both the Div. 2 and Div. 3 men’s MVP. This improved my knowledge and technique for the game greatly and, presented me with the chance to partake in the U18 national competition for South Australia. Despite not receiving an award, this prepared me for the most recent U22 competition in November, at the end of which we, as a team, achieved a silver medal and won the most spirited award. It has also come with its fair share of bruises, scratches, harsh layouts (refer to the image of my wrecked shoulder) and stone cold drops, but I wouldn't change it for the world. All in all, experiencing what success at a national competition is like, I would love the opportunity to help Australia achieve a similar result later this year.
AANNNDD, as an added bonus, I'll make sure to provide some funny snaps of me looking like an absolute pansy as seen in the cover photo, cause apparently being photogenic just ain't my thing...
