Woolgoolga Surf Club is on the move!!!
After many years of hard work and dedication Woolgoolga SLSC is getting closer to finally beginning construction of our new, purpose built facility!!!
The new building has been designed to meet the needs of both Woolgoolga SLSC and community members who may wish to hire the venue for private functions. The current building is 65 years old and has outgrown the needs currently of the Surf Club. The larger and modern facility will see us move down to the end of Woolgoolga Beach and allow us to continue our Lifesaving operations for the Woolgoolga community for years to come in a building that meets our needs.
With the Coffs Harbour City Council moving to allocate the funding to assist Marine Rescue Woolgoolga's move to Arrawarra, Woolgoolga SLSC is excited to be getting closer to having access to our new site and beginning construction on the new project.
The expected cost of our building at this stage is $2.8 MILLION!! This is a large sum but the club is looking at building a facility that will last for many years to come.
$1 Million has been promised to the club by the federal government as well as Surf Lifesaving NSW and Australia supporting the project. The club has a small reserve of club funds however we still fall short of the required total figure to build, relocate and continue operations.
As a result, we are now calling for assistance from the public to assist with the cost associated with the construction of the facility. Anything donated is extremely appreciated by the committee, members and community of Woolgoolga to ensure we are able to complete this beneficial project.
