Women's March - Ann Arbor

We're the organizers of the Ann Arbor Women's March to be held on January 21, 2017 in solidarity with those in the Women's March on Washington, D.C. and in hundreds of marches around America. Scheduled for the day after the presidential inauguration, this inclusive, non-partisan march will welcome everyone. We'll be marching in solidarity with our partners and allies to uphold and protect the rights of all, including women's rights, LGBTQ rights, immigrant rights, the rights of people of color, and the right to religious freedom.

Marches aren't cheap to organize. What follows is an approximated expense breakdown, in order of what we'll first use funds raised to cover:

* Liability insurance, $325
* Flyer printing, $200
* City of Ann Arbor permit fee, $34
* Sound system & lectern rental, $1000
* Banners, $250
* Event buttons for Marchers, $250
* Stickers & printing to identify event volunteers & coordinators during the march, $200
* Art supplies for signs, $250
* Misc. expenses (including first aid kits, heating supplies, supplies for volunteers, and unforeseen expenses), $750

If any money is left over after the march, we will split the remainder equally between the Michigan ACLU, Michigan Planned Parenthood, and Equality Now.
