Therapy for Tyrese
My son Tyrese is 10. He was born with a rare chromosomal anomaly. He is missing the bundle of nerves (corpus callosum) that allows the left hemisphere of his brain to communicate with the right side. He presents with seizure disorder, hypothyroid, hypotonia and other complications. Thus he is very developmentally delayed. His pediatrition recently told me he falls under the cerebral palsy umbrella.
Many people believe that therapies for theses kids are paid for by the government. All too often I've heard people say" the government takes care of disabled kids". Talk to any family with a disabled child and you will find out that that is not the truth. Over the years I have found a number of alternative therapies that helped to change his life. A few children's charities have helped and I have exhausted their help with his numerous needs. He has progressed from not being able to hold up his head and body, or interact with his enviroment for a number of years to army crawling, walking with support and exploring and playing with toys. He walks very strong with minimal support, but has balance and body in space issues.
I'd like to do a new therapy with him called the Therasuite Intensive Therapy . I believe this will help with his proprioceptive and balance allowing him to be able to walk independently. The cost is $5,500 for three weeks , 3 hours a day, five days a week.

Many people take walking for themselve or their children for granted. Not everyone is blessed with attaining this ability without a struggle. I am a single parent and it breaks my heart that I do not have the means to help my son reach his potential. I'm asking for your help. I have noticed that people like to help when someone is dead, that is commendable, don't get me wrong. However, I'm asking for help so my son can LIVE a more fulfilling life. If I'm able to secure the funding, I'll keep you up to date with progress videos on Tyrese's Facebook page under the search " Let's Help Ty" . There you can see his videos and find out more about his journey. Thank you in advance and God bless you!
The page is still open to receive donations. Please give as your heart leads you. May the gift you give be given back to you in ways that meets your needs. God Bless you!
Tyrese has completed his first week of intensive therapy. It has been a good week, we have been working on strengthening his core. I am hoping to raise enough money to at least complete week 2 of his therapy. For accountability I have attached an invoice for the paid amount of $1,830.00. I will be posting pictures and videos on his Facebook page "Lets Help Tyrese" in the days to come. Thank you all for your support.

A special thank you to those have contributed thus far. Tyrese will be starting his intensive Therapy with what we have collected so far on Monday. He's booked for 5 days of three hour sessions for the upcoming week and 5 days the following week. So please keep giving. Sometimes God use our hands to bring about miracles on earth.
I will definitely keep you posted on his progress. The therapy seems to take up most of the day, so please be patient with me. Looking forward to sharing good things with you as Tyrese walks out of disABILITY into ABILITY. God Bless you all.
Last year we collected the $5,500 for 3 weeks of extensive Intensive Therasuit Therapy and a little extra for a few maintenance therapy. In three weeks It was amazing the changes in Tyrese's ability to manage himself in time and space and the improvement in his balance ( my back thanks you!!!). I don't have to lift him anymore, and he is able to walk with so much less support than before.
What was also unexpected was the improvement I saw in his cognitively abilities as well.
This year I am hoping for the support again to move Tyrese more from disability into ability. There is a saying, "it takes a village to raise a child". That is why I am reaching out to you, despite my pride, to ask for your help to transform the life of a little boy who so desperately wants to walk like other children. It breaks my heart as a mother to see Tyrese struggle to do what most people take for granted. He has the potential, so lets help get him there.
If you cannot give please share this post. You can see the videos and pictures on this site or visit his Facebook page at "Let's Help Tyrese". May God bless you all.
