Disabled Veteran Needs Help

On June 22, 2018, a tornado came down near my parents home in Bastrop, Louisiana causing a large oak tree to fall, destroying their home.  My Dad Terry Bullock, Mom Carolyn Bullock and Grandmother (Nana) Minnie Haddick were in the home when the tree fell.  My mom and dad both suffered minor scrapes and bruises but my 86 year old grandmother wasn't so lucky.  After being rescued by emergency personnel, Nana was taken to Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. It was determined that she had several broken ribs, a collapsed lung which needed a chest tube, a broken vertebrae in her back and other scrapes and bruises.  She was air lifted that night to LSU Trauma in Shreveport, Louisiana where she stayed in ICU for approximately 2 weeks before being moved to a regular room for another week.  She is now recovering in rehab and will be returning home July 31, 2018. Due to her injuries, Nana can no longer live on her own and major renovations (electrical rewiring, flooring, additions to accommodate handicap accessibility etc.) are required in order for her to remain in the home that she has lived in for 50 years.  

My dad Terry is a retired disabled veteran of 2 wars.  When the tree fell it damaged his home beyond repair and is a total loss.  My parents will now be moving into my Nana's home to care for her.  However, this tragedy has taken everything from them and with moving everything, the major renovations and extensive medical bills, we are asking for some help.  KTVE and KARD, in Monroe, Louisiana has done 2 news stories on my family documenting their struggles to rebuild and survive this tragedy.  Please see the links below for each news story.
