She's a fighter!
Thursday morning an accident happened on I10 heading eastbound.  While on her way to work, we are not sure what cause the wreck. She heard a loud bang and scraping on the road at 70 mph the back of her 1995 Chevy S10 started to shake and she lost control of the truck. The vehicle went off the road into the median and she flipped 3 times. Thank God she had her seat belt on but no air bags.  While her body remained in the vehicle her head did not and on the last flip her head was pinned between the ground with the truck landing on the right side of her head. She has told me that she could her her jaw bone break and wasn't able to breath. Immediately people came from all directions and everyone rallied together and flipped her vehicle back over upright. After getting to the hospital we find out that she has multiple skull and face fractures with bleeding on the brain. She has been in ICU since she came in on Thursday. Since Saturday afternoon all the bleeding has stopped. Nikki has to have surgery on her jaw where it is broken, couple of screws and a plate in her face. She has had a hard time hearing out of her left ear and seeing out of her left eye and that will take time to heal. Hopefully she will be going home soon. Everyone that has seen her and or the vehicle has no clue how she survived it. We are extremely blessed to still have her and I won't ever take that for granted again. She is wonderful and loved by so many. She has no idea how special she is to myself and my boys that she has spent the last 10 years raising to be wonderful young men. We love her to the moon and back!
