Wizards Emergency Leg Amputation

Tax deductible
This little 8 week old boy is Wizard - he found himself at a kill shelter in Los Angeles with a badly injured and degloved front right paw with the bones exposed. We think he got it trapped in something. The shelter did all they could to help him but needed more medical care than they could give. Our friend and photographer Casey Christopher was at the shelter and immediately contacted us about him when she found out about him and that they had placed him on the high alert list.

We agreed to take him and she rushed him to our vets Beverly Oaks Vet where he underwent emergency leg amputation. He’s awake and recovering and did fine during the emergency surgery. We have attached the (sorry) graphic photos and the video of the surgeon explaining why the leg had to be removed and an estimate. We know we’ve asked a lot lately but if any of you could find it in your hearts to donate even a dollar to cover this babies surgery we would be so grateful and even sharing this post would help.

We will post another update soon. Thank you!!

This is his estimate - this does not include follow-ups, neutering, FELV/FIV testing or vaccinations. That's why we added a little extra to cover these costs to get him healthy and ready for a new forever home!

This is what the foot looked like when we rescued him.
