12/7/17 Update
Dear Wittenberg Door Campus Ministry Supporters,
At the start of 2017 I asked my family, friends, and acquaintances to support this ministry's actual operating expenses. I didn't ask for help with housing, medical care, or a salary. Just for the other expenses incurred.
During the year I've had the opportunity to visit many church congregations and tell them about the kind of care I'm able to provide to our local academic communities. In the past four months, those care opportunities have taken off! We've got a great core of people who are looking to the special community that is Wittenberg Door for help on the front lines of their lives.
We're still about $1,800 short of reaching the income goal for 2017. Would you like the good news? Our expenses have also been below budget.
Please consider whether you can bring us up to the income goal for this year. Also, share the news about this Christian group with your family and friends. I will give you a heads up that next year we will be asking for help with an additional budget category, either salary or housing. It's all part of putting a pastor on campus to bring the hope and care of Christ to all parts of the academic communities.
A blessed Advent and a merry Christmas to all!

11/28/17 Update
Many consider today "Giving Tuesday." As a pastor I get to treat most every day as a giving day. Today that includes sending some contributions to help a sick friend from Uganda, visiting people from the academic communities in Columbia (some with appointments, some as surprise visits), helping some people with their English skills, and praying for our community to see the reconciliation God has made in Christ. Do we need a special reason to give good back to our world? I don't think so. Let's try giving today.

11/22/17 Update
Thanks for your care for Wittenberg Door Campus Ministry! As the 2017-18 academic year has progressed, we've been able to provide on-site pastoral care and nuture for many people in the academic communities of Columbia Missouri. We've had an increasing number of international friends

joining with us, particularly from China, Brazil, and Haiti. Several people have recently contacted me asking to learn more about Jesus and Christianity. Some have wanted help with language and cultural skills. Many just need friends in our community. We're busy with all that.

As we near the end of the calendar year, we're still a few thousand dollars short of our original fundraising goal. Please consider a year end gift to help us continue and expand what we are able to do, bringing Christ and His answers to a community in need.

Original Post
In Acts chapter two the Holy Spirit falls upon people gathered from all around the world. Afterward, the Christian faith spreads like wildfire as people live out their belief in Jesus wherever they might be. Wittenberg Door Campus Ministry provides on-site pastoral care at the University of Missouri, Columbia, a community including representatives from over 200 nations. We are a ministry of the American Association of Lutheran Churches and are registered as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt entity.

As a mission work, we are dependent on our team of supporters to bring this Christ-centered, confessional Lutheran ministry to our community.  Since 2014 Pastor Spotts has been able to research, organize, and begin many ministry activities. Now, in 2017, we intend to spend a lot of time evangelizing and making disciples, bringing the liberating message of God's grace in Christ to many on campus, including students, faculty, staff, and administration members. Our commitment is to care for everyone the Lord would send us. This won't happen without your help.

Will you help us? Transportation, office expenses, literature and other ministry materials aren't free. Bringing a pastor to care for the many nations gathered at Mizzou will take your support. This campaign represents the expenses we project to increase our visibility and impact in 2017. It doesn't include any little details like a pastor salary, housing, or medical care. But it is a start.

Please consider joining with us in regular support as one of the Wittenberg Door 300 , people who contribute monthly. Please consider making a one-time or occasional gift. Please help bring God's words of life to our world.
