Kevin Getz was diagnosed with Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma in January 2014. It is an extremely rare form of cancer and is difficult to treat. Because of this, the majority of treatment has been experimental trials.
His cancer started in his leg and subsequently spread to his lungs in the early stages. Kevin chose to amputate his leg in 2015. Unfortunately, this did not slow the progression of his disease and in the fall of 2016 he was left with few treatment options and chose quality of life over quantity, preferring instead to spend his remaining time enjoying every moment with his family and friends.
Kevin's whole world revolves around his wife and three daughters. In the past couple of years he has been able to pack a lot of great memories into his time with his girls, his main worry being their welfare when he is no longer here.
Let's start the new year off by showing our support for this amazing family and give Kevin some peace of mind that his girls will be ok.
