RIP WISDOM AMANAHA

Wisdom Amanaha born May 23, 1990 in Nigeria, came to Canada at the age of 24 on a study visa to try and better his life and live the Canadian dream. This dream came to a halt when Wisdom was diagnosed with a very rare condition known as “Budd-Chiari Syndrome”, a condition that stops the flow of blood to the liver, which in his case resulted in liver failure.




Despite the Doctors best efforts, his liver wasn’t going to recover regardless of treatments and Wisdom was told he needed a liver transplant. A few months ago, Wisdom received a call that he would receive a liver; however upon arrival at Vancouver General Hospital, he was told that the liver was not a match due to size. Wisdom was back to waiting for a new healthy liver. After a year of waiting, his health continued to decline and his other organs began to fail. Wisdom passed unexpectedly on July 22, 2019 at Royal Columbian Hospital., where he was well known and loved by the health care staff.

Wisdom was in the presence of his mother, Bertha, who travelled all the way from Nigeria, putting work on hold to be with her son during his last days. Wisdom’s last wishes to Bertha was to be taken home to Nigeria and be buried close to his family and friends. During this tough time in order to fulfill his last wish, we are asking for help with funding as this would cost over 15,000 dollars just to begin the process of bringing him home. We are asking for your help to relieve this financial stress for his family as they mourn the loss of their beloved son, brother and friend.  We are hoping to raise enough money to give him the funeral he deserves and to lay his spirit to rest.
