Winton Wanderers Toilet Twinning 5k

Winton Wanderers FC are running 5k and joining in with 'The Big Squat', which is being held by the charity Toilet Twinning.

Toilet Twinning is a charity which builds new toilets in a third world country and 'twins' them with your toilets in your home country. Children die, miss vital schooling and along with women are vulnerable to attack, whilst just finding a place to go to the toilet. 2.4 BILLION people do not have somewhere safe and hygenic to go to the toilet, something which we take for granted here in the UK.

As the football club are linked to Winton Salvation Army and therefore can not play without this link and sponsor church, we have decided to give something back. We will be hoping to raise enough money to at least twin the Men's public toilets in Winton SA's building.

The players will be moving training to the beach and will run from Bournemouth Pier and back (taking in a couple hundred more metres to complete the 5k). Then there will be a competition within the squad adhering to the rules of 'The Big Squat', a fun fundraising and awareness event by Toilet Twinning to be held in Bournemouth on Saturday 23rd September. Due to us having a game, we will be doing this the Wednesday before.

We are hoping to raise £60 to be able to twin one toilet, but if we are able to achieve moe than one that would be fantastic too. A Block of toilets costs £240.
