Hannah's Diabetic Alert Dog

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Hannah Ray, I'm 15, and 4 years ago I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
-
This is Winnie. She is an American Golden Retriever, and the dog I selected to go through an extensive 6-8 month training program through the organization Diabetic Alert Dogs of America so she can become my service dog.
-
You see, lately it has been a struggle for me managing my crazy blood sugars, so a few months ago I started looking into getting a Diabetic Alert Dog to have by my side at all times, and to alert me when I have low or high blood sugars, which when not taken care of immediately, can lead to comas or pose other dangerous threats.
-
After doing some research, I came across Diabetic Alert Dogs of America, an organization located in Las Vegas, NV that trains and places Diabetic Alert Dogs into the loving homes of kids, teens, adults, and seniors living in the insulin dependent world of T1D.
-
Having decided on DADs of America, my family and I are now preparing to start the process of obtaining my very own alert dog, which, of course, doesn’t come cheap; the training process for the dogs lasts 6-8 months, and in that time I need to find a way to earn about $16,000 to help pay for my dog, its training, medical care, food, supplies, etc.
-
I know it’s a large sum to ask for, but I’m confident that with your help, that goal can be reached in no time and I can get the service dog that means so much to me.
-
Thank you so much for taking the time to consider my cause, and have a lovely day! :)
