Austin Anderson is a blessing to anyone he comes into contact. Though he is a small lad with great challenges, he is an icon of strength and all things that are good and kind and perfect. Just a sweet, sweet and happy boy.
Austin lives with optic nerve hypoplasia, which is a congenital disorder that is caused by the underdevelopment of the optic nerve. He also suffers from septo-optic dysplasia, which is another birth defect that is related to growth hormone deficiency, and he is mildly autistic.
A former student of the Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis and the Bolivar Center for the Disabled, Austin learned many skills in both institutions that helped him to have a good quality life here in Southwest Missouri. Austin loves music, his lap piano, all things water, his hot wheel cars and being with his family. He especially loves time with his mother, Kimberly Lightwine of Bolivar and his father, Robert Anderson of Butterfield.
These words are written in present tense as it is extremely hard to share that Austin was set free this past Monday, August 29, 2016. Austin's passing is completely unexpected and incredibly hard to understand.
'If there is anything we can do' is usually what we say when we lose someone. It is not easy to ask for assistance for funeral expenses, yet this is the best way to help Austin's family. Services will be conducted through Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, MO and tentatively scheduled for early next week: first week in September.
