Wings for Jackie

Donation protected

I never imagined that I would be reaching out to Radio & TV Stations, Businesses, Organizations, complete strangers, and every person that we know; to ask for help. But now, I am more than willing to ask, beg & plead for help, from every person in the entire world: if it means that it will somehow help our wonderful 16 year old Jackie Michelle Colson, to fully recover from the two strokes that she recently had.
Saturday, December 3rd, after waking up with a migraine, Jackie suddenly had no control over the left side of her body & fell.  Come to find out, she had actually suffered a stroke & the left side of her body is paralyzed.  She is now at the Seattle Children's Hospital, where she is working to use the left side of her body & to get back to where she was before the stroke.
Until a few days ago, her recovery was progressing extremely well, and then on Monday, December 12th, she had another stroke & now we are starting her recovery over, again.
Jackie is a light that shines so brightly, you are immediately drawn to her. When she smiles, you can’t help but to smile, too; her contagious laugh and witty comments can instantly stop your tears. She has always been extremely active and loves the outdoors. She is unbelievably cheerful and has a positive attitude about everything!  She thanks everyone who helps her, even with the smallest of task, telling them that THEY are amazing; with her beautiful crooked smile beaming. She is strong, determined and so independent that I have no doubt that she will conquer this!
Still, the doctors have no idea what the underlying condition is that caused the strokes & are still running tests.
You always hear about cancer research. But why not stroke research?  People think that Strokes only happen to people who are elderly & that it is just part of aging.  You never hear about the teenagers, children and even babies who have strokes. Doctors still don't fully know how to prevent strokes, stop them or reverse the damage that it does to your body and to your brain.
Please, I ask that you not only donate to Jackie`s gofundme page; but that you also help spread the word about this horrible disease and donate to help support stroke research and to helping other stroke victims.

Thank you so very much for your help & support,

The Colson Family
