Willow's Surgery

Hello Everyone,

My name is Anna and I'm rasing money for my dog, Willow's, surgery. While I was at work last night she got scared by fireworks, broke through and fell from my third story apt window. She shattered her back leg, and broke her front as well. She needs surgery on her front leg and her back leg has to be amputated. (update: her back right leg has been amputated). For her to live, she will need surgery.

Willow is my life. She is my service dog and without her I may not be here today. There are not words to express the love we have for each. She is my family and has brought joy and happiness back into my life. I don't know where I would be without her and I know there people out there who understand the bond and unconditional love.

This means the world to me, and I am so thankful for any amount you can contribute. The funds are needed as soon as possible, due to the surgery needing to take place. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

With love,

Anna and Willow

Willow is doing so amazing!! She got her cast off a couple days ago. Her amazing vet, Dr. Essig, and I both started crying when she announced that from a surgical stand point she no longer needs to see Willow. She will still need check ups for her back leg to make sure she's walking on it properly. But she is well on her way to recovering! Thank you again for making this possible and saving her life!!!!

So I haven't posted an update about Willow in awhile. First of all, I am still so grateful for all your help and support <3 She is still hanging in there and is such a fighter. Her front leg is continuing to heal. But her one back leg is having a rough time though. To compensate for the weight difference she's been walking on her hock/flat on her foot. Her tendons are being pulled and will rip if not fixed, She has a splint but doesn't love it, and won't walk with it yet. So just continuing to work with her and try to get her to walk as little as possible-which is hard when my high energy German Shepherd is ready to run again! Will need to keep raising money, treatment will probably continue for another 3 months or so with appts, meds, bandage changes and xrays etc,

Life has been difficult and stressful but I don't regret getting her and am still so happy she is in my life <3

I got another grant for Willow and she's doing great from her surgery. Good things happen when you put your trust in God.

Update on Willow :) She's still hanging in there. Her infection looks a TON better. They'll be doing a culture during her surgery on the 15th. Praying that it comes back negative for any infection. The really bad one might have just been on the surface of her skin and not down in the joints like the other ones. Worse case scenario, if the infection is still there she'll need a round of the IV fluids that can cause Kidney damage/failure. They tested to see if a compounded version would get rid of the bacteria, and it doesn't. So please keep us in your prayers. <3

Also, she is healing wonderfully from her amputation :)

That is very discouraging news. Poor little girl. I am sending healing thoughts her way. And some more funds your way to try and help with the additional bandages.

Thank you for the update. It's kind of like out of sight out of mind, much appreciated. You and your baby has been through a lot, I am sorry. One thing I do know is if it doesn't break us it will make us stronger. Give your little furball a hug from the Bates family on cloverlawn!
