Wildwood Prep Track Club

Wildwood Middle/High School is a Title 1 school located in Wildwood, FL in central Florida;  90% of the students are living below the poverty level. The mission of the Wildwood  Prep Track Club is to: encourage student athletes to pursue track & field in college; promote healthy lifestyles; provide mentoring opportunities; encourage family cohesiveness and participation; and develop team and community pride. 

The Wildwood Prep Track Club is made up of middle school and high school athletes as well as dedicated coaches who not only coach the student athletes for track but also strive to give the athletes the support to further their lives with education and skills training. Many of the students will go home each day after practice and will not have a nutritious meal until returning to school the next day. In addition, many of the athletes lack proper equipment including shoes, uniforms and training equipment. This gofundme page is sponsored by a group of retirees who formed a booster club to help the team. We have been making and delivering brown bag lunches and healthy snacks to the team each day they practice, at a cost to our group of about $72 per day. However, your donations could help us do much more. In particular, the team could specifically use equipment to allow them to practice properly and safely as well as to host meets at the school along with appropriate track and field shoes, shorts, tee shirts and socks to better allow them to practice and compete.  Your donation, large or small, would help these athletes immensely.  Thank you in advance for whatever you can contribute.
