Wife's Immigration Lawyer Fund

A few weeks ago on a Wednesday night after eating dinner there was a knock on the door. The CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency) had sent 2 of their knuckle draggers to kidnap my wife. They refused to say why they were taking my wife or where they were taking her.  They put her in cuffs that were way too tight and put her in the back on their car and drove off after being nothing but hostile and rude to the both of us.  A few hours later I get a call from an unknown number, it's my wife. She told me that she was being held in a detention area inside the Vancouver Airport YVR. I spent the night informing her father who lives in UK and letting my parents know and crying and freaking out.

Turns out the reason they abducted my wife in the middle of the night is because they claimed she was babysitting 3 days a week without a work visa. We  currently are waiting on approval of her citizenship and work permits which takes several months. Now the government are taking the word of a douche millionaire and his neglectful wife over a young couple that is just trying to start a life together.  After treating my wife really horribly for almost 48 hours and refusing me any access to her, I got her a lawyer and got her out of those damn cells. It was the longest we'd been apart in the nearly 3 years we've been married.  I make enough money to pay all the bills, rent, food and go out once a week. Anything beyond that requires saving.

Now I'm several thousand dollars in debt. The law firm requires that I keep a minimum of $1,000 in retainer with them at all times. I've already spent a month of my salary to get her out of jail and give her a fighting chance of being able to stay with me in Canada. All that we want is to be able to live and work, yet even though we are married it's proving to be a real hassle.

I'm hoping to raise $2000 in the next few months to help me cover the costs of maintaining the law firm's retainer. Don't let the imaginary border police steal my wife from me. I have a hard time eating and sleeping without her near me and we are looking to start a family here in Vancouver. We don't want to live anywhere else and we shouldn't have to.
