Widow In Crisis

Richard and Stephanie Smythe shared a life of love and adventure.

During their marriage, they enjoyed a mutual zest for life and interests that included motorcycling, auto racing, fishing and golf. They shared a deep love of the outdoors and animals.

Living in Colorado with their dogs, they were approaching retirement with the anticipation of living their dream.  Due to health concerns and the recommendation of their doctor, the couple made the leap to move to the Big Island of Hawaii and settled in a modest fishing village to live out a quiet, simple life.

After only two weeks of moving to the island, on the morning of Sunday, August 4th Richard Smythe passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest.  Richard’s wife performed CPR for almost 45 minutes in desperate effort to save him after she found him gasping for air late Saturday night. By the time the paramedics arrived to their remote location, it was too late.  CT scans done at the hospital showed no brain activity and he was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.

Due to the unexpected nature of Richard’s passing and finances tied up in probate, his wife Stephanie, is in need of help to cover some temporary basic living expenses as well as funeral expenses until resources and social security are released.  Any donations from those with a heart to contribute would be greatly appreciated.
