WHS Patriots Unite! Nick Corso Needs Us!

If you went to Washington High School in the 70’s and 80’s, you know the Corso family.

Nick Corso graduated in 1980. His beautiful wife Diane graduated in 1986. They were married August 1, 1986. They will celebrate 33 years of marriage this year with their two daughters, Ayako and Sara.

Last year, in the spring of 2018, both Nick and Diane suffered heart attacks within about two weeks of each other. Fortunately they both recovered. Nick proudly shared how he was getting into better shape and posted on Facebook about his weight loss. About ten months later, tragedy struck. The weight loss had not been totally from his hard work.

On March 28th, Nick was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in addition to appendicitis and an intestinal blockage. Surgery was completed to remove a large tumor. On May 2nd, the news was again difficult. Nick’s cancer had spread to his lymph nodes and his diagnosis was upgraded to Stage 3 Colon Cancer.

Chemotherapy treatment for this aggressive cancer began on June 10th and will continue for an anticipated six months. Additionally, the doctors are concerned about yet another “hiding” tumor. A scan will happen on June 14th to confirm. Nick and Diane are praying for a negative finding.

Nick is the primary provider for his family and he will be unable to work for at least six months. Diane is unable to work due to COPD. Due to loss of income and medical bills, they expect their shortfall to be about $1300 per month, for six months … a total of $7800.

Fellow Patriots, friends and acquaintances of the Corso family … we can do this! Join with me to help this loving family get through this very challenging time. I offered to start this a month or so ago, and Nick politely declined, saying there are others more worthy of the help. With the new diagnosis and lengthy treatment schedule, I think you will all agree, Nick and his family are worthy of our help. Nick and Diane have decided the time has come to accept our support.

Please donate if you can. Please share this link. If you know Nick and Diane personally, maybe drop off dinner, a bag of groceries or a gift card to a grocery store or for fuel. I am also willing to deliver for you as needed. Or maybe offer to help with transportation. There are many ways to help … and sometimes it is just quiet company, being a supportive friend.

Nick and Diane are two of the nicest people I know. If there was a Facebook award for “Sweetest Person”, Diane would get it hands down. Thank you in advance for your support for this family.

**All funds collected will be disbursed directly to Nick and Diane to be used for household expenses and medical bills**

Nick's post from May 21st: ...“God gives his hardest obstacles to his strongest soldiers. It's fight time!
